RampedUp Job Change Notifications or New Hire Alerts — what's the difference?

· 1 min read

A person moving to a new company — job change and new hire signals

Two RampedUp features tell you when a person changes jobs: Job Change Notifications and New Hire Alerts. They look similar from the inbox, but they are sourced differently and set up in different parts of the platform. Here is how each one works, and when to reach for which.

Job Change Notifications

Job Change Notifications are a byproduct of Contact List Building. You create one in two steps: save the search criteria, then check the Email Notification button on the saved search. That enables the system to send you an email whenever a contact that fits your saved criteria is added to the database.

The main driver for a Job Change Notification is a change in employer or job start date observed on social media — or the actual announcement through a social post.

New Hire Alerts

New Hire Alerts live in Company Alerts. You create one by saving the search criteria within the Personnel alert type, then checking the Email Notification button. That enables the system to send you an email when a new hire who fits your saved criteria is announced in a company press release.

The email notification goes out once a day, but the alerts database itself is refreshed every 15 minutes, powered by 25 newswires and PR feeds. While this data will make its way into the contact database, most new hires are first seen here.

What they share

In both cases the system sends an email notification once a day with a link back to the platform, and in both cases an API can be set up to automate the process.

The best part: notifications do not decrement a credit — they are included as part of the subscription.

New Hire Alerts and Company Alerts are also embedded in the latest version of Linked iNspector, so you can see timely, relevant data on the company or contact right inside the Chrome extension while you are on LinkedIn.
