· 2 min read

This month, we added 6,524,554 new contacts and refreshed 380,180,087 existing records, making it one of the largest monthly refresh cycles of the past year.

A key quality improvement in this release is the consolidation of contacts under a single company RUID. Previously, some contacts were distributed across multiple RUIDs for the same company. While this change does not affect overall record counts, it materially improves data quality, record consistency, and user experience. In upcoming releases, we will also introduce the active_company_ruid in the company database, with related hierarchy relationship fields.

We also increased mobile phone coverage by 156,466 records this month and launched a new Wireless Identifier service to support future releases across the U.S. and Canada. In addition to identifying wireless numbers, this service captures ported cellular numbers that were originally landlines, improving both accuracy and coverage.

For countries that designate area codes to mobile phone providers, we will only assign mobile phones with these area codes and the telecom provider. We deduplicate every mobile number ensuring it is formatted correctly and unique. We ensure the contact country of residence complies with the e164 format of the country. That means we will not assign a mobile number to contact if the international format and the country of residence differ.

This release also added 5,524 personal email addresses. As many users have seen, professionals at smaller businesses and sole proprietorships often use personal email accounts for business activity, or may not have a company domain at all. Historically, these addresses have been flagged only as personal. In Q2, we will introduce a new contact_professional_email_validation_status value: FREE MAIL. This status will identify personal email accounts that we have verified are being used for professional purposes. These addresses will appear in the contact_professional_email field, and the supporting source page will be captured in contact_professional_email_validation_web_source. A quick recap of our email validation process.

All of our Professional Email Addresses are validated through our own SMTP service or through a Catch All validation technology that we have written in-house. This functionality calls the Google Workspace or Microsoft 365 active directory with the email address for authentication. Additionally, we have culled professional email addresses older than 12 months (even if they have been validated recently) from our database.

We also continued cleanup of education data within contact records by removing encoded double byte characters that have previously caused formatting and ingestion issues. These characters are typically tied to encoded language sets, particularly those used in East Asian languages. In a future release, we will introduce a new education_level field, a fixed-value field representing the highest level of education attained by a contact.

Finally, we are introducing a new Ad Tech File in our Identity Resolution suite of products. The initial launch of the Global Ad Tech File contains approximately 200 million Personal Hashed Emails (HEMs) paired with 20+ professional attributes. Built from our global contact database, email exhaust exchange, and company crawler network, this file nearly doubles the reach of the contact database alone. While personally identifiable information has been removed, the file retains key B2B targeting attributes such as job title, department, industry, company size, and revenue.
