February’s Q1 contact data file provides the largest number of email addresses with a VALID status we have ever delivered as well as company phone numbers. Please review Our data dictionary for more details.
41,367,265 of 174,928,382 global contacts have a VALID email validation distinction and 175,895,242 contacts have phone in this month’s file. Our focus on professional email addresses has helped us increase historical emails to 299,987,322 contact records, a 4X jump since last quarter. Historical email addresses help companies identify outdated records and update them with current information. We also increased the number of Twitter handles associated with a contact to 26,534,370, a 3X jump since our last file delivery, and LinkedIn URLs to 698,928,532. Many customers use social media associations for identity resolution.
New Industries
In preparation for our next delivery, we will have two new fields:
- company_industry – 420 distinct classifications for categorizing the company’s main field of business
- company_sector – 20 distinct classifications for categorizing company industries
The reason for the additional fields is to stay in step the North American Industry Classification System (NAICS). NAICS is the standard used by US federal statistical agencies in classifying business establishments for the purpose of collecting, analyzing, and publishing statistical data related to the U.S. business economy.
The conversion to NAICS 2022 will result in minor revisions reflecting content and coding changes within the mining and logging, manufacturing, wholesale trade, financial activities, and other services sectors, as well as major revisions reflecting content and coding changes in the retail trade and information sectors. Many industry titles and descriptions also will be updated to better reflect official NAICS titles.
